Payment links or a virtual terminal: which workflow do you need?

A payment link lets a customer open a payment page and enter their own details. A virtual terminal is a provider’s interface for a merchant to enter payment details, commonly for an authorised telephone order. Availability, permitted use and security requirements depend on the provider and your account.

Describe the job you need to do before asking for a product recommendation. Examples include taking a deposit before a booking, collecting an outstanding invoice or handling a customer who is already on the telephone. Ask the provider how to set references, confirm payment, issue refunds and reconcile the transaction.

Do not collect or share card details in forum posts, email replies or messaging threads. Ask your provider which handling process it permits and what training or compliance steps apply to your business.

How do you take remote payments now, how many do you expect each month, and what would make the process easier for you and your customers?
