The short answer
Use your own Worldpay statement and contract as the starting point. Compare the full term, promotional periods, terminal provision and required integration with a written alternative. Awais can review an offer through takepayments / Global Payments, not a whole-market panel.

Separate the device from the package
Worldpay’s general card-machine page describes tailored pricing. Its countertop page also publishes a specific Simplicity tariff: 1.50% on applicable Visa and Mastercard transactions, an 18-month hire agreement, no authorisation fee and no minimum monthly service charge. Other schemes have separate terms. Its Custom tariff is described for businesses above £75,000 annual card turnover, with variable rates.
The countertop page displays a £0 monthly terminal-hire promotion, with eligibility, minimum-transaction and 18-month-term conditions; the advertised offer ends 31 December 2026. Confirm the applicable promotion period and later rental in writing. This source check on 5 October 2026 is not a quote from Awais and does not describe every Worldpay contract.
List the exact terminal, software, connectivity and integration you use. Compare the full cost, including any exit charge and the ordinary month after a promotion.
Check the cost after an introductory offer
For an illustrative offer with £0 rental for 12 months followed by £20 rental for six months, the 18-month rental commitment is £120, before any other costs. The average rental is £6.67 per month over that period. This is a hypothetical example, not a Worldpay offer.
Compare the full minimum term as well as an ordinary month after the offer ends. Add card processing and any other relevant charges; a free terminal period does not imply free payment acceptance.
Bring a specific reason to the review
Contract timing, business expansion, reporting, settlement and reliability can each create a buying moment. Awais can use that context to assess the options available through takepayments / Global Payments.
Ask for an itemised existing exit figure and a like-for-like proposal. If the expected improvement does not justify the cost and disruption, you may be better keeping the current setup.
Compare proposals even when provider groups overlap
A proposal through Awais may use Worldpay products or acquiring. It must not be treated as necessarily leaving Worldpay. Ask who provides the terminal, processes payments, bills each service and handles support. Compare the actual agreements and supported workflows; a brand relationship alone does not establish that prices or products are identical.
If the reason for looking is an expiring promotion, identify the first full-price month and the remaining commitment. If it is a support or reliability issue, document the problem and ask how the proposed arrangement addresses it.
Your comparison checklist
| What to gather | How it helps |
|---|---|
| A typical month of card turnover and full costs | Calculates the effective current payment cost |
| Terminal model and till integration | Prevents losing a useful capability |
| Promotion end date and ongoing price | Avoids comparing temporary and standard costs |
| Contract end, notice and exit figure | Makes switching economics testable |
Common questions
Is Worldpay always more expensive?
No. Costs depend on the arrangement and usage. This service makes no blanket price claim about Worldpay.
Will a new terminal work with my current till?
Do not assume it. Confirm the exact software, terminal and integration before agreeing to switch.
